I have worked in District Twelve Schools for eighteen years, seventeen of those years as a BASE Site Director, six of those years here at Tarver. More importantly, I'm a product of District Twelve Schools, starting my education at Westview Elementary all the way to graduating from Northglenn High School, something I'm proud of. I'm also proud of the fact that my three sons will also be products of District Twelve Schools as well, starting their education at Tarver.
I have a Bachelors of Arts from Metropolitan State College of Denver, with an emphasis in Psychology.
When I first started in the District I came to a meeting at Tarver and I remember thinking how nice and well rounded the staff and teachers were, I wanted to work at Tarver. After a few months here, I realized that the staff and teachers are not just the nicest people, but they truly treat each student as an individual. Specifically, giving each student the individual resources and attention that they need to become a competent, self assured future member of the community. It was at this point that my husband and I moved our family to the Tarver community so that our children could attend Tarver Elementary.
As the Site Director for BASE, my staff and I try to continue the individual education given to each student before and after the normal school day. We do this by helping one on one with homework, making games out of math and science, and reading, reading, reading. I love my job!
